In the Computed tomography department of A.N. Bakulev Center you can undergo a wide range of CT examinations, both for diagnosing congenital or acquired cardiovascular pathologies, and for determining diseases of other systems of the human body.
Equipment
At A.N. Bakulev Center examinations are carried out on modern expert class CT scanners. They are:
  • 128-slice МSCТ SOMATOM Definition AS+, Siemens;
  • Dual source МSCТ SOMATOM Definition Flash, Siemens;
  • Innovative dual source МSCТ-scanner SOMATOM Force, Siemens.
A.N. Bakulev Center is the only one in Moscow that has the latest generation dual source CT scanner SOMATOM Definition Force, which has a number of innovative technological features: ultra-fast scanning, low radiation exposure, the minimum dose of contrast agent, high resolution and dual-energy mode.
SOMATOM Force provides expert diagnostics of the highest class in such priority clinical areas as the heart and blood vessels pathology, diseases and injuries of the brain, oncological diseases, pathology of the liver, pancreas, kidneys and urinary system, it is used for effective planning of surgical treatment, monitoring the therapy effectiveness and early detection of tumor recurrence and postoperative complications.
The Center's priority is the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular pathology. The whole range of expert cardiologic CT examinations is carried out:
  • a comprehensive assessment of the heart and coronary arteries, with the planning of percutaneous endovascular and electrophysiological interventions,
  • assessment of functional parameters of the left and right heart,
  • myocardial perfusion on the first pass of contrast and stress perfusion with quantitative characteristics,
  • a dynamic assessment of the left ventricular myocardium thickness and mobility,
  • assessment of the viability and mobility of the walls of the mitral, aortic valves,
  • planning, assessment of transcatheter interventional procedures risk and results,
  • the ChestPain protocol, which allows to differentiate one of three life-threatening conditions within a single study: acute coronary syndrome, acute aortic dissection, and pulmonary embolism.
