Department of pathoanatomy with prosectorium is one of the essential departments of A.N. Bakulev Center (it was founded in 1956).

A rich experience has been accumulated in the field of cardiopathology of various congenital and acquired diseases of the heart and blood vessels, pulmonary hypertension, concerning the issues of myocardial protection and cardioplegia, the study of the pathogenesis of acute heart failure and cardio-oncology over the years of work.

Main directions of clinical work

The department carries out a lot of practical work on clinical material, examining biopsies and surgical material using immunohistochemistry and electron microscopic methods, morphometry.
