Department of resuscitation and intensive care for adults

The main task of the Department of resuscitation and intensive care for adults is to care for extremely severe cardiosurgical patients with valve, ascending aorta and arch pathology, coronary artery disease, chronic heart failure, patients after heart transplantation and implantation of an artificial heart ventricle, after operations treating heart rhythm disturbances.

The Department uses all modern achievements of science and technology for medical and technical support of patients with severe cardiovascular insufficiency, multiple organ failure syndrome, actively uses circulatory support systems.

On average, more than 2,000 patients who underwent open-heart surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass receive intensive care in the Department annually.

Up to date, 14 doctors, 32 nurses and 13 nurse assistants work in the Department to ensure its continuous work and patient care.
