Department of anesthesiology-resuscitation at the Institute of Coronary and Vascular Surgery

The Department of anesthesiology-resuscitation of the Institute of Coronary and Vascular Surgery was established in 1998.

Anesthesiology methods for all types of surgical and X-ray endovascular interventions on the heart, aorta and vessels of any level of complexity is carried out here.These methods including neuraxial blockings: epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, combined spinal-epidural anesthesia in patients with coronary, vascular, venous pathology, acquired heart deseases.

During the intervention, timely recognition and intensive therapy of pathological conditions and syndromes in the operating room is carried out. During all operations we use methods of blood-preserving therapy. Individualization of anesthesia methods in patients with severe and comorbid pathology was introduced.

Methods of brain protection during coronary pathology repair under cardiopulmonary bypass and during simultaneous reconstructive interventions on coronary and brachiocephalic arteries have been developed.

2923 anesthesias were carried out in the Department of anesthesiology and resuscitation in 2022, 1334 of them on the open heart, 1579 closed heart surgery, 759 using regional anesthesia methods. 942 anesthesias and 4214 follow-up monitoring were carried out in the Department of X-ray endovascular surgery.
