Sphere of scientific and practical interests

Perfusion support during congenital heart defects repair in infants up to 1 year, diagnostics of the microcirculation system in cardiac surgery patients, special perfusion techniques, minimally invasive extracorporeal circulation, development and implementation of methods for myocardium protection. Since 2011, Doctor Averina is a coordinator of the section «Cardiopulmonary bypass» of the Russian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons. Organizer of international conferences, simulation trainings and other forms of training in extracorporeal technologies.

Scientific activity

The author of chapters on cardiopulmonary bypass, myocardial protection and blood conservation in books devoted to cardiovascular surgery; author and co-author of more than 50 articles, including those published in foreign journals.

Personal achievements

Academician A.N. Bakulev Prize in 2007 for achievements in performing cardiopulmonary bypass in newborns and infants and providing more than 4000 perfusions per year at Bakulev Center for several years.

Academician of the RAMS V.I. Burakovsky Prize in 2014 for many years of successful intraoperative support of operations (more than 1500 per year) in infants up to 1 year old with congenital heart defects.

Diploma of the Russian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons for organizing the work of the RACVS section «Cardiopulmonary bypass» and a medal of the Russian Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons.
