Angiology, ultrasound/x-ray diagnostics of vascular pathology. Professor Shumilina has been practising vascular pathology diagnostics since 1989.
Professor at the chair of cardiology, ultrasound and functional diagnostics with pediatric cardiology course.

Deputy editor-in-chief of the journal «Clinical physiology of blood circulation», editorial board member of the journal «Angiology and vascular surgery named after academician A.V. Pokrovsky».

Personally developed and implemented:

1. Method of complete examination of brachiocephalic vessels,

2. Method of ultrasound diagnostics of abnormal venous cerebral outflow and arteriovenous balance,

3. Method of ultrasound diagnostics of headaches,

4. Method of vertebrobasilar insufficiency examination,

5. Classification of atherosclerotic plaques of internal carotid arteries on the basis of diagnostic characteristics of different methods,

6. Classification of venous cerebral blood circulation abnormalities,

7. Classification of carotid artery bifurcation types,

8. Non-invasive venous blood pressure measurement method,

9. Hemodynamical significance indications of tortuosity of the internal carotid arteries,              

10. Identification method of tandem-stenosis operability,

11. Detection method of Eagle’s vascular syndrome,

12. Hemodynamic importance criteria of compression syndromes (brachiocephalic vessels),

13. Ultrasound criteria of renal phlebohypertension.

She has 263 publications (including 9 monographs devoted to ultrasound diagnostic of vascular pathology, chapters in the book of brachiocephalic arteries endovascular surgery, chapters in 2 national manuals), 2 learning and teaching posters about venous cerebral pathology diagnostics.
