Department of non -invasive arrhythmology and combined pathology surgical treatment (DNIA)

The Department of non -invasive arrhythmology and combined pathology surgical treatment (DNIA) was founded 8 March 1998. The founder and head of the Department is Elena Zelikovna Golukhova, PhD, Professor, Academician of the RAS, and Honored Scientist of the RF.
Since its opening, in the Department of non-invasive arrhythmology:

• more than 20,000 patients have been treated,
• about 2,000 open-heart operations have been performed,
• more than 5,000 closed-heart procedures have been conducted (angioplasty and stenting of the coronary arteries, implantation of pacemakers, of cardioverter-defibrillators, radiofrequency ablation and others).

The patients of the Department have access to the whole range of modern interventions for the cardiovascular system diseases. The Department actively develops the following types of medical care:

• adjustment of drug therapy,
• endovascular procedures (angioplasty and stenting of the coronary arteries, of brachiocephalic arteries and renal arteries, transcatheter ablation of arrhythmogenic zones, including the use of the most modern navigation systems, aortic valve transcatheter implantation, ASD closure using the occluder, etc.),
• implantation of pacemakers, resynchronization devices and defibrillators,
• all types of open-heart surgery (off- and on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, valve plasty and replacement, septal defects plasty, removal of heart tumors, and others).

Modern expert-class equipment and the experience of specialists allow us to provide all types of care according to the standards adopted in the world's leading cardiology and cardiac surgery centers.
  The Department of non -invasive arrhythmology and combined pathology surgical treatment is the only one in the Center that uses a unique set of methods for non-invasive diagnostics of heart diseases. The Department has a system for bedside monitoring of patients, including ECG, blood pressure and other vital functions parameters within a consolidated computer network (with a united central station where all information about the condition of patients is displayed).
The Department's own laboratory allows to determine urgently a number of important parameters: troponins, myoglobin, lipid metabolism, blood coagulation, etc. at the patient's bedside, as well as more complex immunological and molecular genetic examinations.
In DNIA patients with concomitant endocrine pathology and metabolic disorders (including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, etc.) are diagnosed and treated. It has its own rehabilitation and recovery complex for patients after open-heart surgery.
The bed capacity of the department is 20 beds. All wards in the Department are cozy and comfortable, have a separate toilet and shower, are technically and functionally equipped according to the international standards, including systems for continuous bedside monitoring and alerting medical personnel.
The Department staff consists mainly of the Center’s alumi, residents and post-graduate students. The average age of the Department's doctors is less than 40 years. The scientific team of the Department includes 1 Academician of the RAS, 2 PhDs, 9 MDs. The staff of the Department are highly qualified specialists proficient in the development and use of various diagnostic methods: electrocardiographic (superficial multichannel ECG mapping, Holter monitoring), echocardiographic and other methods of examining patients with diseases.
