DEPARTMENT OF ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSTICS (US)

Main directions of the department's work:

• Scheduled and emergency consultations of patients with pathology of the cardiovascular system of all age groups
• Performing examinations of patients who are hospitalized to the Center departments
• Providing intra-operative diagnostics, performing examinations in intensive care units
• Research work
• Teaching and educational activities
• Diagnostic support for field consultations and preventive examinations of the population.

19 ultrasound specialists, including 2 PhDs and 7 MDs work at the department.
Doctors are proficient in modern high-tech methods of ultrasound diagnostics of congenital and acquired heart diseases. They have vast practical and scientific experience, which they actively use in diagnostics, scientific work, as well as teaching and expert activities in the center for accreditation of healthcare professionals in ultrasound diagnostics.

The department performs more than 63 thousand ultrasound examinations annually, which include more than 10 thousand examinations of children under 2 years old; more than 32 thousand examinations of adults.
More than 3,000 transesophageal examinations are performed annually: more than 300 of them are intraoperative; more than 2,000 in the hospital.
More than 200 endovascular operations are performed annually in X-ray operating rooms with ultrasound guide.
In addition to the cardiovascular system, ultrasound examinations of the abdominal organs, kidneys, thyroid gland, neurosonography, etc. are carried out.
