Introduction of thoracoscopic interventions into the general practice of surgical repair of CHDs in children. Simultaneous operations in order to eliminate CHD and malformations of the tracheobronchial tree, diaphragmatic hernias, chest deformations, paresis of the diaphragm cupola, etc. are performed at the department together with thoracic surgeons.

Hybrid operations are performed in conjunction with X-ray endovascular specialists in case of complex anatomical variants of congenital heart defects, when conventional cardiosurgical techniques are ineffective and/or involve high risk and certain technical difficulties.

The team of the department works closely with the team of pediatric oncology surgeons, performing joint operations to remove tumors that affect the heart and other organs at the same time.
