Education in A.N. Bakulev Center for cardiovascular surgery of the Russian Ministry of Health

A.N. Bakulev National Medical Research Center for cardiovascular surgery trains highly qualified personnel in cardiology and all areas of cardiovascular surgery. The faculty includes active practicing specialists who pass on their knowledge and experience to trainees and supervise the scientific work of post-graduate students.

The Institute of Experts Training and Professional Development at A.N. Bakulev Center of the Russian Ministry of Health is a leading educational and methodological center for training specialists in the field of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery.

ADVANCED TRAINING

The Institute trains specialists according to the programs of additional professional education and issues documents of the established standard.

Specialists with higher medical education can undergo advanced training in the following areas:

Methodological accreditation and simulation center

“Methodological accreditation and simulation center”, which provides organizational and methodological support for the specialists accreditation, as part of the implementation of the Federal project “Medical Personnel of Russia”, has been successfully operating in A.N. Bakulev Center since 2020.

The training program of the simulation center takes into account the importance of working out the team interaction of different specialities doctors and is built on the cluster principle. Each cluster includes several simulators for training similar skills. Different specialists can use the same cluster, which makes interdisciplinary teamwork possible.

CLUSTER А (Acute) provides training in cardiovascular resuscitation, intensive care and emergency treatment.

CLUSTER В (Basic) provides training of propedeutics skills, care and safe handling of a cardiac patient, including in the perioperative period.

CLUSTER С (Cardiovascular) – a complex of stations for developing skills in performing heart operations under cardiopulmonary bypass with the possibility of conducting team trainings with anesthesiologists.

CLUSTER D (Diagnostics) is intended for specialists in ultrasound and computer diagnostics of the cardiovascular system diseases. The cluster includes classes on the screen simulator of the ultrasound machine and training in computed tomography in a specially equipped classroom.

CLUSTER Е (Endovascular) is intended for drilling practical skills of endovascular interventions on the heart and blood vessels, as well as using technologies for the invasive treatment of arrhythmias. For this simulator the Center has developed and conducts several training courses for surgeons, cardiologists, arrhythmologists, including residents.

CLUSTER G (Gym) includes classes on the original Wet Lab and Dry Lab workstations patented at the Center, where the surgical technique of operations on the heart and blood vessels is practiced. The cluster is only available to practicing surgeons and residents who have successfully completed training on the cluster C simulator.

The development and maintenance of professional skills among young professionals using modern simulation technologies is carried out in the following areas:

Classes on simulators are conducted by highly qualified specialists– practicing doctors of the FSBI A.N. Bakulev Center of the Russian Ministry of Health.
