SCIENCE in A.N. Bakulev NMRC CVS of the Russian Ministry of Health

A.N.Bakulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery of the Russian Ministry of Health has been the founder of fundamental and applied research in the field of cardiovascular surgery for many years. Progressive methods for diagnosing and treating diseases of the heart and cardiovascular system, which become the topics of scientific work and the subject of professional discussion, and subsequently receive wide practical application in cardiology clinics and centers in Russia are developed there.
The scientific activity of the Center is extensive and includes theoretical, experimental and clinical branches. All research conducted at the Center is divided into seven main branches, which have an index of particular issues. These particular issues include: general issues of cardiovascular surgery, congenital heart diseases, acquired heart diseases, coronary artery disease, arrhythmology, heart failure, vascular pathology.
Research work is carried out within the framework of targeted research programs, grants from the President of the RF for state support of young Russian scientists, and the Russian Science Foundation.
The Thesis Board monthly accepts MD and PhD theses for defense. Over the last few years, from 27 to 32 papers (6-9 PhDs and 20-25 MDs) have been defended at the Board.
The Scientific Council of the Center convenes weekly and oversees all research. These are active days of various divisions of the Center, during which reports are heard on the results of the work for the year, the progress in the implementation of targeted research programs and scientific research.
The Council of Young Scientists conducts a lot of work to attract creative youth to participate in scientific activities. It annually organizes the All-Russian Conference of Young Scientists, determines the best young scientists at the end of the year.
The own publishing house of the scientific medical Center specializes in the production of books, brochures and journals of specialized scientific and educational content.
The Center annually holds the All-Russian Congress of Cardiovascular Surgeons and other scientific events, and is also the organizer of the International Conference Creative Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery. New technologies for diagnosing and treating of heart diseases.
The center conducts inventive activities, develops medical products - biological heart valves, vessels, patches and other essential components for performing operations on the heart and blood vessels.
A.N. Bakulev Center of the Russian Ministry of Health conducts a lot of work to preserve the historical heritage of domestic medical science. In 1998, the Museum of Cardiac Surgery was opened at the Center. It has been replenishing its exposition with unique items for more than 20 years.
