The main direction of the scientific and practical activities of the department is the optimization of strategic approaches to the treatment of CAD patients (drug, endovascular, surgical, alternative). Both in the Center and in Russia, the clinical diagnostic department has many priorities in introducing the most advanced, reliable and effective diagnostic and therapeutic developments into routine clinical practice.
The Clinical diagnostic department provides diagnostics and treatment of patients with a wide range of diseases of the cardiovascular system. The main direction of scientific and practical activities of the department is coronary artery disease and its complications.

Main directions of clinical work

The department performs:

Complete diagnostics of the cardiovascular system
Treatment of coronary artery disease
Treatment of acquired heart deseases
Treatment of heart rhythm disturbances
The risk evaluation of non-cardiac surgery and evaluatin of the surgical treatment stages of patients with concurrent diseases, in particular, with oncopathology
Rehabilitation of patients after heart surgery

Types of operations developed and implemented in the department

Coronary artery bypass grafting on a beating heart
Reconstruction of the left ventricle of the heart in patients after extensive myocardial infarctions
Shunt plasty with the formation of "new" heart vessels (for severe lesions of the coronary arteries)
Coronary endarterectomy (plaque removal) from the vessel lumen
Different vascular procedures

Statistics

Annually, the department performs more than 200 CABG procedures, the average complication rate is no more than 1.5% (the figures are comparable to the world's best clinics).
The staff of the department is represented by experienced, highly qualified specialists, including 15 MDs, 7 PhDs. The head of the department is Academician of the RAS Yu.I. Buziashvili.
The team of trained nurses is responsible for the safety and well-being of patients on a daily basis. All patients in the department receive round-the-clock care.
