DEPARTMENT OF X-RAY SURGICAL METHODS OF HEART AND VESSELS EXAMINATION AND TREATMENT

Various endovascular procedures in patients with chronic CAD, including such complex procedures as stenting of the left coronary artery trunk; of bifurcation lesions; recanalization and stenting of the coronary arteries chronic total occlusions, etc. are successfully performed in the department. Stenting operations are performed in case of pathology of the brachiocephalic, renal and the lower extremities arteries. The staff of the department provides round-the-clock treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome.

In case of acquired heart diseases, such types of endovascular interventions as TLBVP for heart valves calcification, endovascular closure of paraprosthetic fistulas, the aortic valve endovascular implantation are performed. Also, urgent puncture of the pericardial cavities is performed in case of hydro/hemopericardium in patients of all age groups. Myocardial biopsy in patients after heart transplantation and other pathologies is performed in the department.

The above-mentioned examinations should be no older than two months, for infants - no older than a month.

Data of previous invasive studies of the heart and vessels (angiography, ACG), if available.

The main priority of the department is the continuous increase in the volume of endovascular care provided to the population. Thus, there is an increase in the total number of examined patients with cardiovascular pathology from 3,479 patients in 2005 to 13,057 patients in 2019. Over the past 5 years, the total number of examined and treated patients who received high-tech care in the department, on average, is 12,000.

The department of X-ray surgical methods of heart and vessels examination and treatment is equipped with five stationary angiocardiographic units from the world's leading manufacturers, which allow us to perform all kinds of endovascular interventions for heart and blood vessels pathology. The department is also equipped with the equipment for performing intravascular imaging (intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography) and assessing intracoronary physiology (determination of fractional and instant blood flow reserve), which allows us to achieve an “ideal” result when performing surgical intervention.
